IPO

A private equity backed, UK based, international electronics company, preparing for an IPO, needed to recruit a Chairman and two independent directors for its Board. The company was looking for senior executives with experience of operating at board-level in blue-chip companies, who would be able to guide the management team of this relatively small business through the IPO and the subsequent strategic and operational challenges.

Working to a strict IPO deadline, we drew up a full brief for the role, using the process to get buy-in from the senior management, the private equity firm and their advisors. Using our extensive knowledge of the UK and international markets, we focused on candidates who combined the credentials and appetite with the right style and approach.

Focusing initially on the Chairman role, we helped our client appoint a former FTSE 100 main board director who was an experienced Chairman and non-executive. We subsequently helped appoint two non-executive directors, one of whom had deep industry knowledge and the other a listed company CFO to chair the audit committee. The relationship with the company has continued and we recently helped appoint two key members of the CEO’s executive team. The company’s share price has more than doubled since its IPO.
